Meet the Vet Behind the Supplement

If you’ve ever felt unsure choosing a supplement for your cat, you’re not alone.
The pet supplement space is crowded, and phrases like “vet formulated”, “clinically backed”, or “created by experts” are everywhere. They sound reassuring, and they should be, but often it’s difficult to see who is actually behind the product.
No name.
No face.
No clear explanation of how or why it was developed.
When it comes to your cat, that uncertainty doesn’t feel great.
Why “vet formulated” can feel confusing
Cats are often treated like small dogs when it comes to supplements.
Formulas are repackaged. Ingredients are tweaked. Claims are made with confidence, but without much context.
As a cat owner, you’re expected to trust the label and hope you’ve made the right choice.
But at 3am, when something feels off with your cat, and they can’t tell you what’s wrong, the last thing you want is to be guessing whether you chose well.
That’s a feeling we don’t think should exist.
So, here’s who’s behind this brand
Hi, I’m Dr Bec.
I’m an academic, a biotech expert, and I’ve been a practicing cat vet for over 25 years.
And if I’m being honest, I’ve always thought most supplements were nonsense.
Not because I don’t believe in science, but because I do.
I was trained to be sceptical. Supplements, as a category, are often poorly regulated and poorly formulated. Many are marketed confidently, without being designed specifically for cats.
I’ve also spent decades frustrated by how often cats are treated as an afterthought, as if what works for dogs must automatically work for them.
It doesn’t.
Cats are physiologically different. Their needs are different. And they deserve products that are designed for them from the start.
That frustration is why Dr Bec’s Cat Supplements exists.
What “vet formulated” actually means here
For us, transparency isn’t a buzzword. It’s the baseline.
It means:
You can see the vet behind the product
You know her name
You know her experience with cats
You know cats were the priority from day one
And you can understand why each product exists
When formulating GUT+, JOINT+ and ANXIETY+, I combined decades of clinical experience with research conducted in cats… not dogs, not humans, and not assumptions.
Because supporting cats properly means respecting their differences.
What we refuse to do
There are a few things we’re very clear about.
We won’t:
Hide behind stock images or unnamed experts
Repackage dog supplements for cats
Use fear or guilt to sell to you
Ask for blind trust without accountability
Good decisions come from clear information.
Calm decisions come from understanding.
That’s the standard we hold ourselves to, both as a vet and as a brand.
If you’re wondering where to start
One of the hardest parts of caring for a cat isn’t wanting to help, it’s knowing where to begin.
That pause before choosing something doesn’t mean you’re overthinking.
It usually means you care.
Take the quiz so you can figure out what your cat actually needs.
And at the end of the day, you deserve to know who made what you’re giving your cat, and we’re always happy to show you.
